In today's convening, we will discuss the history and evolution of Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) program. The SBIC is designed to facilitate the flow of long-term capital to America's small businesses. The Small Business Administration (SBA) does not provide capital directly to businesses. Instead, the SBA collaborates with private investors to capitalize professionally managed investment funds (known as SBICs) that finance small businesses.
