This will include a panel discussion addressing the legal questions around internships, the experience of a team which recently created a successful internship program, best practices of senior recruitment specialists, and more.

This seminar is part of a larger initiative led by the Boston Fed and the Greater Boston Chamber to promote a strong workforce in the region.

Anne Bailey Berman, President Chadwick Martin Bailey

Anne is co-founder and President of Chadwick Martin Bailey, designated as one of the top 50 market research and consulting firms in the U.S. Throughout her career she has consulted for leading brands including those in financial services, health care, insurance, publishing, and technology. She specializes in using integrated information to deliver critical insights for confident, strategic decision-making ranging from brand to market development to product strategies.

She currently chairs the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and Old North Foundation, as well as sits on boards of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and Massachusetts Children's Trust Fund. She has been presented the Pinnacle Award for Entrepreneurship by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Third Lantern Award by the Old North Foundation.

She earned a B.A. and an M.A. from Louisiana State University and her M.B.A. from Boston University's School of Management.

Chadwick Martin Bailey has hired interns over the last 20 years. The program is sufficiently flexible to enable hiring throughout the year with the goal to bring aboard interns whose education and interests would benefit from working with its staff. The positions are highly focused depending upon the intern's time commitment and skills.

Ceantel G. Brathwaite, Senior Recruiter and Diversity Specialist Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Ceantel G. Brathwaite is a Senior Recruiter and Diversity Specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. In her role, she actively recruits for the entire organization including interns, entry-level hires, and experienced professionals. As a Human Resources professional for the past 11 years, Ceantel has experience in the financial sector, retail, and hospitality in the greater Boston area. Ceantel earned her undergraduate degree in Finance from Northeastern University with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Ceantel is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Certified Diversity Recruiter (CDR). As the primary point of contact for college interns, Ceantel coordinates the onboarding and activities for the Summer Internship Program for college students at the Fed as well as working with high school students. The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston has had internships and coops for more than 30 years, with as many as 40 participants per year. Most interns participate in the Bank's summer intern program, which includes many networking, educational, and teambuilding activities.

Robert A. Fisher, Partner and Deputy Chair Foley Hoag

Robert A. Fisher is a partner and the Deputy Chair of Foley Hoag LLP's Labor and Employment Law Department. Rob represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including union disputes, discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, benefits issues and contractual claims. He practices before state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In addition to defending employers in litigation, Rob also advises clients regarding day-to-day personnel matters. Rob earned his law degree from Cornell Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Rob regularly advises clients, particularly technology companies, regarding the legal risks associated with unpaid interns. Rob has drafted materials relating to clients' internship programs and has helped clients identify the best way to utilize interns in the workplace.

Rachel Gordon, Human Resource Manager The Greater Boston Food Bank

Rachel Gordon is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and holds an Advanced Certificate in Strategic HR Management from Cornell University, Certificate in HR Management from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, is a City Year (AmeriCorps) Alumni, and has a BA in Women's Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Rachel has over 5 years' experience as a dedicated HR Generalist and has experience within fast paced, goal oriented environments. She has been a Human Resource Manager with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) since August 2012 and is responsible for partnering and providing all aspects of Human Resource services and support to over 85 people. Within her first year, Rachel collaborated with organization leaders and effectively developed GBFB's first formal internship program which was implemented in June of 2013. The internship program helps increase public awareness for GBFB and is designed to give college students an opportunity to complement their education with real life career-related experience. With the official launch of the program, Human Resource and Marketing Interns joined Team GBFB and shadowed, participated in, and assisted with a number of initiatives. Overall, the inaugural Internship Program was a tremendous success!
