The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston today announced the appointment of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of its Board of Directors for 2011. The designations were made by the Federal Reserve Board, Washington DC.

Henri A. Termeer, a Class C Director, has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2011. Currently serving as Chairman, Mr. Termeer has been a Board member since 2007. He served as Deputy Chairman in 2007-2009. Mr. Termeer is Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Genzyme Corporation. He is a member of the board of directors of the MIT Corporation, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Partners Healthcare, and is a member of Governor Patrick's Council of Economic Advisors. He also serves on the boards of the New England Healthcare Institute, Abiomed, and Project Hope, an international nonprofit health education and humanitarian assistance organization.

Kirk A. Sykes, a Class C Director, has been named Deputy Chairman for 2011. The Board's current Deputy Chairman, Mr. Sykes has been a Board member since 2008. He is President and Managing Director of Urban Strategy America Fund, L.P., an urban investment, development and redevelopment fund. Mr. Sykes serves on the Boards of Overseers at Beth Israel Hospital and Brigham , Women's Hospital Osher Center, New England Board of National Association of Securities Professionals, and on the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City Board. He also serves as a Vice Chair of Real Estate Executive Council and as a Co-Chair of Urban Land Institute's Responsible Property Investing Steering Committee.
