Invested is the Boston Fed's interview-based publication focused on a range of community voices speaking to issues affecting low- and moderate-income New Englanders. It continues and expands on the strong legacy of our longstanding former publication, Communities & Banking.
Each publication-year series focuses on a broad theme, with four issues looking at topics within that theme. Issues include a variety of interviews with stakeholders who have different perspectives on the series topics, along with narrative explainers, animated clips, illustrations, maps, and other visuals reflecting and interpreting the content. With Invested, we seek to complement the work of our Regional & Community Outreach department on related topics, introduce to the conversation new contributors and audiences, and reflect issues and challenges of concern to our communities across the region.
Most importantly, Invested is centered on identifying and working toward solutions. We are interested in learning more about what community members, localities, companies, organizations, and policymakers are trying, what is working or not working and why, and what might be replicable elsewhere or on a larger scale. Our aim is to contribute local context, nuance, and personal stories to the research, data, and broader conversation on these complex central issues affecting New Englanders and their communities.
