What to Expect When You Apply
Our hiring process is designed to find talented individuals who are motivated by public service and interested in contributing to the work of the Federal Reserve System.
The Boston Fed is an equal opportunity employer, and encourages applicants from every ethnicity, color, religion, gender, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, and sexual orientation.
As a condition of employment, Boston Fed employees must comply with ethics rules that generally prohibit employees, their spouses, and their minor children from acquiring financial interests – such as stocks or bonds – from banks, savings associations, and systemically important financial institutions or their affiliates, such as bank holding companies or savings and loan holding companies. If you, your spouse, or your minor child own such assets and would be unwilling or unable to divest them if you were to accept a job offer, you should raise this issue with our recruitment team.
After You Apply
For applicants, please be aware of potentially fake online job postings that claim to be from the Federal Reserve. Always verify and apply to jobs on Federal Reserve System Careers site.
The Boston Fed’s recruiting and hiring teams carefully review each candidate’s experience and qualifications. Once a candidate applies, they can expect:
- A structured interview process that may include a mix of one-on-one and panel interviews with team members and Bank leaders, along with additional conversations with the hiring team. The recruiting team will provide details in advance, including the interview format, timing, and who will be involved in the interview process.
- Throughout and after the interviews, candidates are evaluated based on their experience, skills, and fit for the role.
- If selected to move forward, candidates will hear from the recruiting team about next steps and an offer. (For those who are not selected, the recruiting team will proactively reach out to keep them informed.)
- Please note, due to the high volume of applications, the timeline for each hire can vary depending on the role.
