The Rockingham Meeting House is the earliest public building in Vermont in nearly original condition; one other meeting house in the state dates earlier but has been severely altered. This 2 1/2 story white clapboard structure was started in 1788 and finished in 1801 and was used for both government and religious meetings. KenWiedemann - Getty Images/iStockphoto
