Boston Fed Careers
Early Career & Internships
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston provides paid internships, research associate roles, and entry-level jobs for students, early professionals, and those re-entering the workforce.
These positions offer practical experience and allow participants to support the Bank’s mission through meaningful work.
Internships

College Summer Internships
Each summer (May-August), the Bank welcomes undergraduate and graduate students to work across a range of departments and business areas. Interns gain hands-on experience and exposure to day-to-day operations while collaborating with managers and colleagues on meaningful projects. Interns also have access to mentoring, workshops, and networking opportunities.
Summer internship positions are typically posted in the Bank’s career portal beginning in mid-December.

Co-Op Program
The Boston Fed partners with colleges and universities that offer cooperative education programs, including Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. Each year, undergraduate and graduate students participate in paid co-op roles across a variety of departments based on their academic focus and skills.
Co-op placements typically run from January to June or July to December, and opportunities are posted on the participating institution’s career portals throughout the year.

Today’s Interns, Tomorrow’s Professionals (TIP) high school internship program
Through a partnership with the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC), the Today’s Interns, Tomorrow’s Professionals (TIP) internship program provides income-eligible high school students in Greater Boston with paid internship opportunities at the Bank. The program helps students gain early work experience while building skills for workplace success and personal financial stability through enriching programming. The Regional & Community Development department leads the program and places interns across various Bank departments.
Students typically apply through the PIC in late winter.
