College summer Interns College summer Interns

Each summer (May-August), the Bank welcomes a number of undergraduate and graduate students to work in a range of departments and business areas. Interns receive direct exposure to day-to-day operations, collaborating with managers to achieve their business goals and foster their own growth through access to the Bank’s mentoring program, workshops, and periodic networking sessions. Summer internship opportunities are typically posted in our career portal starting in mid-December.

The result of a partnership between the Boston Fed and the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC), the Today’s Interns, Tomorrow’s Professionals (TIP) internship program provides income-eligible high school students in Greater Boston the opportunity to work at the Bank in order to gain positive work experience, while building skills for both workplace success and personal financial stability through intensive enrichment programming. The program is led by our Regional and Community Outreach department, which works to place interns across various departments in the Bank. High school students typically apply through the PIC.

Co-op program Co-op program

Each year the Boston Fed hires a number of graduate and undergraduate students from local colleges and universities with co-op programs, including Northeastern University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. These paid co-op roles typically run from January to June, or July to December, in various departments throughout the Bank based on students’ area of study and particular skillset. Co-op opportunities are posted on the institution’s career portal throughout the year.
