On May 31, 2023, from 8:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston will hold a half-day, in-person conference as part of the Federal Reserve’s Fed Listens series on “Transitioning to the Post-pandemic Economy.” This event will feature a diverse set of leaders from a cross-section of the New England economy who will discuss their experiences about challenges and opportunities following the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A chief goal of this conference is to better understand how the pandemic experience has reshaped the economy and the workforce. The discussion will focus on transitions in the labor market, the housing market, and state and local government fiscal health. Panel sessions on each topic are planned to prime active discussion with invited guests. Susan M. Collins, president and CEO of the Boston Fed, and Michelle W. Bowman of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors will join the conversation.
The in-person portion of this event is invitation-only. The public is invited to listen to the conference on livestream starting here at 8:50 AM on May 31, 2023.
In-person guests and the viewing public are encouraged to review brief, high-level overview material that profiles the Boston Fed’s understanding of how labor markets, housing markets, and state and local public finance have changed and are changing based on the pandemic experience: Briefing Material. We invite you to share your perspective on these changes by completing the following survey here.
