Securing Mobile/Digital Payments in a Global, Transit, and Faster Environment
The Mobile Payments Industry Workgroup (MPIW) met in April 2018 to discuss several industry developments related to mobile and digital payments: 1) EMVCo activities related to Secure Remote Commerce and 3-Domain Secure 2.0; 2) transit open loop payment systems; 3) global digital wallet solutions; and 4) faster and P2P payments. The meeting discussions led to findings about tools to help with a more secure expansion of the e-commerce environment in the U.S; how and why U.S. transit agencies are transitioning to open loop/mobile payments; mobile wallet developments in other countries and impacts to the U.S. market; and advances in faster and P2P payments that might impact mobile.
