Reinventing Work Initiative: Massachusetts Business Perspectives on Recruiting, Retaining, and Engaging Talent in Today’s Marketplace
This Event Has Ended
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Commonwealth Corporation and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) have forged a partnership, the Reinventing Work Initiative (RWI), to better understand the challenges and opportunities that exist to redesign jobs for workers, particularly in industries and occupations that include large numbers of low-income or entry-level positions.
The first phase of this work involved engaging businesses in the Commonwealth in interviews and small group listening sessions to learn about the challenges they face in recruiting and retaining talent. After six months of listening, it is clear that the economic climate is challenging for business; at the same time, it is also creating new opportunities for employers to review and reconsider the ways they engage and manage their frontline workforce. We invite you to join us as we share how nearly 100 companies across industries are responding to contemporary workforce challenges with renewed thinking and innovative tactics. The morning event will include remarks from EOLWD and Reserve Bank leaders, a presentation of findings from the listening sessions, a panel of local business leaders who will share their own experiences ‘reinventing’ work, and a preview of forthcoming opportunities to engage with the Reinventing Work Initiative. There will be coffee, networking, and light breakfast beginning at 9:30am and the program will commence at 10:00am.
