It's baseball season again in Boston - time to break out your peanuts and crackerjacks! The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston today announces the latest release of Peanuts , Crackerjacks, an online learning tool that fosters economic education in the form of a fun animated game. Players explore the market for professional team sports - how leagues gained market power, why tickets cost so much, why athletes earn as much as they do, and why there is so much economic conflict in professional team sports.

Peanuts & Crackerjacks joins other online learning materials created by the Boston Fed to advance economic understanding, including:

• Pursuit! On the Trail of Economic Growth, which helps players build a base of knowledge regarding the historical and economic factors that contribute to New England’s economic  growth and develop an understanding of how growth affects living standards;
• Show Business: The Economic$ of Entertainment, offering two units, music and movies, to illustrate how markets develop, the role of technology in shaping markets, intellectual property rights, copyrighting concerns, and the global economy; and
• Fed Trivia: Currency!, the Boston fed’s newest online learning tool: a mobile application encouraging players to learn about and test their knowledge of U.S. currency and coins.
